Children’s Day

Today is celebrated as Universal Children’s Day as well as World Children’s Day.

In 1954, the United Nations General Assembly recommended all nations designate a day as a universal children’s day. However, nothing further was stated. So, it seems different countries celebrate it on different days.

International Children’s Day is celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of December. In Mexico, El Dia del Nino (Children’s Day) is celebrated on April 30.

So, today, do something nice for the child in your life – a hug, a kiss or a reward of a special treat.

This time of year they’re trying to be really good anyway.
